Irma’s farewell message

Today, Bilingual Families Perth farewells Founder and Chair of 20 consecutive years Irma Lachmund, as she completes her journey with the organisation and moves onto the next stage in her life following her heart’s calling into Environmental work.
Irma’s work has impacted thousands of families, schools and organisations in WA not only by educating us about the importance of maintaining our mother tongue at home but by providing first class training and effective platforms for families to connect and learn.
Irma led lovingly by example, raising her own two – now adult – children fully bilingual and sharing her experience and expertise through her work.
Irma has been the heart and soul behind the organisation and an exemplary leader who always led with Passion, Creativity, Love, Positivism and above all Honour. In everything she does, Irma walks the walk.
I am honoured to have known Irma and worked with her for the last decade and I and the team will miss her and wish her the BEST in her future endeavours!!
