Please join our new closed facebook community group for meeting other parents and two-way engagements. Just apply to become a member and answer the two questions. You will probably find a same language speaker there to connect with, support and make new friends.

Our Strategic Plan 2017-2022 has been finalised at the Annual General Meeting on 11 November 2017. Have a look on our downloads’ page and let us know if you would like to be invoved in implementing our ambitious goals over the coming five years. We need your talent and would love to connect. Join in singing German Christmas Carols on Sunday 9 December 2018 at Lake Jualbup in Shenton Park, song sheets provided. BYO picnic and German Christmas stories and poems. Free event at south-east corner of lake, 6-8pm. Unser traditionelles Singen von deutschen Weihnachtsliedern findet diesmal wieder am 2. Advent statt. Wir treffen uns ab 18Uhr in Shenton Park am Lake Jualbup, Suedostecke vom See. Bitte Weihnachtsgedichte, Geschichten und Freunde mitbringen. Die ganze Familie ist herzlich willkommen.

21 February 2019 is International Mother Language Day. We are preparing a celebratory picnic or event on the day or on a weekend close to the day. Save the date and find out more about this UN Day. The UN will announce the theme for 2019 around January.

Our traditional family fun event Easter Egg Rolling on Easter Monday, 22 April 2019. Bring a plate of food to share and some coloured hard-boiled eggs for our egg and spoon races and the all time favourite Easter egg throwing games. All languages welcome, bring your friends and the whole family. Free event and no rsvp required. Just come along to Banks Reserve at Joel Terrace in Mount Lawley, along the banks of the Swan. Event starts at 11am, games commence at 12noon. 2019 we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary! Tell your friends.

If you would like to co-host a workshop in Geraldton, Kimberley or Southwest of WA, please let us know? We are still keen on holding a workshop in our regional centres, such as Broome or York and other towns in the Southwest of WA sometime in the future. Please send an e-mail to bilingualfamilies@yahoo.com.au if you are interested in regional workshops and especially if you could give us a hand with organising them or co-host the event.

Bilingual Childcare. The Mulberry Tree Childcare Centre in Mount Hawthorn offers Spanish childcare support. The Italian Australian Childcare Centre in North Perth and the Asilo Bilingual Childcare & Learning Centre in Yokine offers childcare in Italian.

It’s easy to search for Bilingual Playgroups on the website of Playgroup WA http://www.playgroupaustralia.com.au/wa/. Just select the language you are looking for on the drop down menu. Contact details for each group are provided on the page. Check out their noticeboard here: http://playgroupwa.com.au/News-and-Notices/Noticeboard/. Services are limited to children under compulsory schooling age.
